Sacrificial Coatings (Waxes, Silicon and Nano products)
Our records show a huge increase year on year of works that we are undertaking as a direct result of incorrect cleaning methods as well as sacrificial waxes and silicon’s having been applied by others previously. In some cases these fail dramatically as soon as 6 weeks after work has been completed but most commonly 12 months (One summer) after these type products have been applied. We have had to develop new systems to cope with this high demand as the products applied cross link after baking has occurred from the heat of the sun. Once these product have cross linked it seems impossible to remove them as they have turned into a fine powder which in the case of anodized finished hardens within the pores of the surface. We are also aware that to overcome the problem these companies simply apply more of the same or similar products over the top of the cross linked first application. This result is swirls and patches soon after application as well as causing further damage to the substrate.
It is essential that these coating are NOT used as they are NOT fit for the purpose and should be removed as soon as possible, the longer they are left on the more unsightly they become and much harder to remove.
As far as we are aware we are the only company in the world who have developed a system to remove such coating, sadly in some cases after multiple applications of these products we are not able to completely restore large panels back to our usual high unblemished standard, however the results are only marred by visual appearance but are;
- 95% better than the previous appearance
- 100% protected and carry our normal guarantee
